Print and Apply Label Applicators
A print and apply label applicator is an automated labeling system that prints on-demand labels and applies them directly to products, cases, cartons, pallets, and shipping containers. These systems combine an industrial print engine with an automatic label applicator to reduce manual labeling, improve barcode accuracy, and integrate into packaging or production lines. Print and apply systems are commonly used for barcode labels, shipping labels, RFID labels, case labeling, carton labeling, pallet labeling, product identification, and compliance labeling.
HOW A PRINT AND APPLY LABELER WORKS
Product Detection
A sensor detects the product as it enters the labeling area and confirms that it is present and in position to begin the print-and-apply cycle. This detection can be done with a photo-eye, reflective sensor, through-beam sensor, proximity sensor, barcode scanner, or vision camera, depending on the application. Once the product is detected, the PLC or controller starts the sequence by preparing the label data, timing the product movement, and determining when the label should be printed and applied. Proper product detection is important because it helps ensure the label is placed accurately.
PRINT AND APPLY YOUR WAY
Every labeling application is different. LabelPack Automation can configure a print and apply system around your product, label size, line speed, conveyor layout, barcode requirements, RFID needs, and required label placement. Whether your application calls for tamp apply, tamp-blow, wipe-on, corner-wrap, pallet labeling, or a custom applicator design, our team can help build the right solution for your production line.
TAMP APPLY
Press the label directly onto a product, carton, case, tray, or pallet using a controlled tamp stroke. Tamp apply is best for flat surfaces and applications where accurate label placement is required.
TAMP BLOW
Print, holds, and applies the label with a controlled burst of air for accurate non-contact label placement.
WIPE-ON APPLY
Applies labels to the side, top, or surface of products as they pass the applicator on a conveyor.
CORNER-WRAP APPLY
Applies one label around the corner of a case or carton so the label can be scanned from multiple sides.
SWING ARM APPLY
Applies labels to the side or multiple sides of boxes, pallets, or large products where extended reach is required.
